Coil is a constraint-driven game where the entire mechanic vocabulary emerges from one piece of physics: a verlet-integrated rope. Climbing, swinging, hooking, lassoing, and knotting are all the same simulation under different player intents.
I built it as a 5-month exercise in restraint. There is no character controller. Movement is just biased rope dynamics with player-applied tension at the head.
Reviewers compared it to Getting Over It; I think it’s closer to a puzzle box.
